A hearty, nutritious loaf made from whole wheat flour. Soft, slightly nutty, and perfect for sandwiches, toast, or everyday use.

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, honey (or sugar), and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add whole wheat flour, salt, and oil. Mix until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape into a loaf.
  6. Transfer to a greased loaf pan and let rise 30–40 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
